For the fifth consecutive year, in September 2016 the European Cooperation Day will be celebrated across Europe. The aim of the campaign is to highlight to the general public the achievements of cooperation between European regions and countries.

This year for European Cooperation Day, Interreg-IPA CBC Bulgaria – Turkey Programme is organizing a local event on 21 September 2016 under the motto „Together by air, land and water“ in Burgas, Bulgaria.

The celebration of the European Cooperation Day will start with a boat trip to St. Anastasia Island, which is located in Burgas Bay in the Black Sea, followed by a guided cultural tour of the island. The event will continue with outdoor activities from 17:00 on the Scene "Snail" in the Sea Garden of Burgas. The participants will have the unforgettable opportunity to enjoy the Bulgarian Black Sea coast from the air with a balloon flight.

European Cooperation Day campaign is initiated by INTERACT with the support of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Committee of the Regions. The event in Burgas is coordinated by The Joint Secretariat of the Bulgaria-Turkey IPA Cross-border Programme in cooperation with the Ministry of Regional Development and Public works of the Republic of Bulgaria (Managing Authority) and Ministry for EU Affairs, Republic of Turkey (National Authority).

Representatives of local authorities, journalists, beneficiaries of the programme, students and residents from the Cross-border region including the districts of Burgas, Yambol and Haskovo in Republic of Bulgaria and the provinces Edirne and Kırklareli in the Republic of Turkey are invited to take part in the event.
