Joint Monitoring Committee meeting of the Interreg-IPA CBC Bulgaria – Turkey Programme 2014 – 2020 will take place on 8th of November 2016 in Burgas, Republic of Bulgaria. The Joint Monitoring Committee includes representatives of central administrations from both partnering countries, district administrations from the cross-border region and non-governmental organizations.

The meeting will be chaired by Mrs. Denitsa Nikolova, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works of Republic of Bulgaria and co–chaired by Ms. Beyza Turan, Director of “Financial cooperation” Directorate in the Ministry for EU Affairs of Republic of Turkey.

The main objective of this meeting is to review and select the projects recommended for funding under the First Call for proposals.

The First Call for Proposals has been announced on November 16th, 2015, with a deadline for submission of project proposals – March 16th, 2016. It provided the possibility for applying under the two Programme’s priority axes – Priority Axis 1 – „Environment“ and Priority Axis 2 – “Sustainable tourism”. The available financial resources of the First Call for project proposals amounted to EUR 11 028 255. A total number of 195 project proposals were submitted within the deadline.
