Project summary:

The project focuses on improving the capacity for nature protection, sustainable use and management of common natural resources through cooperation initiatives in the cross-border area. The overall goal is to strengthen cooperation among “Vassil Levski” Primary School and “Suloglu primary school” for improving the students and citizen’s awareness and consciousness about environmental issues and the role of protected areas in sustainable development by innovative methods and solutions.
Within the project new training materials for students and teachers, new extracurricular seminar educational sub-program “Eco-volunteer” and Specialized Children's Guide in the protected areas will be developed. Specialized eco-cabinets will be equipped and the existing eco-laboratories will be upgraded in the both schools. Environmental seminars are planned to be held, such as additional training activities for students, teachers and parents, as well as implementation of pilot joint specific activities in protected areas in Bulgaria, including Children's patrol and the game “Strict Observer”. The Turkish partners will organize a student Eco-camp with the implementation of a special program agenda "Observer-Conservative".
The implementation of the project will contribute to expanding the content of the educational materials for students and teachers focusing on the role of protected areas, recognizing protected species and effective ways of conservation and surveillance. The project will provide an opportunity to introduce specific environmental educational programs aimed at implementing pilot joint coordinated specific conservation activity for protected areas in Bulgaria and Turkey.
