Project summary: | The project aims to contribute to enhancing the cooperation in environmental sustainable development in the cross-border area of Pinarhisar (Turkey) - Sredets (Bulgaria) through execution of small-scale investment activities in green infrastructure from both sides of the border. Within the project it is envisaged conduction of a joint workshop and happening for disadvantaged youths and children to increasing their knowledge in conservation and management of common natural resources. The project foresees reconstruction of and creation a “GREEN HOUSE” in Sredets and an "ECOLOGICAL CENTER" in Pinarhisar as centres for cross-border training and networking for sustainable development. It will be organized and implemented "Green week" events in Sredets and Pinarhisar to increasing the public awareness among the local pupulation on climate change and nature protection issues. The implementation of the project will encourage the cooperation among policy makers, NGOs and associations of producers through exchanging information, sharing experience and best practices which will improve the eco sustainability of the region. Project status: Finished Through cooperation between Municipality of Pinarhisar and Municipality of Sredets an investment project has been accomplished. Within this project the target group: 140 children and youths, aged 7-18 years, who will be with increased capacity for conservation and management of natural resources; 10 children in disadvantage positions, who will be with increased capacity for conservation and management of natural resources; 1000 residents who will be with increased awareness on climate change and nature protection issues. There were performed many activities within this project and it was mentioned in the project activities part.

Project summary: | The overall objective of the project is developing a monitoring network to observe bark beetle population dynamics in artificially propagated coniferous forests in the regions of Burgas and Kirklareli through conducting specialized research and detect bark beetle infestation in artificially propagated coniferous plants.
Project status: completed Forest Health is a project to build a monitoring network to monitor the dynamics of the bark beetle population in the artificial creation of coniferous crops with overall sustainable forest management and use in climate change conditions. for long-term study of coniferous forests, which are part of the forest ecosystems in the Black Sea coast and Strandzha Mountain. Specialists were trained to use slit trap-type pheromone traps with wet catch to establish the distribution and flight dynamics of bark beetles and reported data. performing specialized research. The target groups exchanged good practices in the application of preventive and integrated methods in coniferous plantations in order to improve their condition. |
