Save the Nature to Save the Future

The main objective of the project is to improve the capacity of nature protection, sustainable use and waste management of common natural resources of cross-border area. The region is a fast developing area, with specific geographical, economic and environmental features, requiring special efforts for their management. At that point raising awareness about environment and waste management is on focus.
Within the project equipment will be supplied and installed and an electronic mobile-lab for measurement the soil quality will be created in the region of Dimitrovgrad, Bulgaria. Meric Cahmber of Agriculture, Edirne will establish a Plastic Boxes Recycling Centre to recycle plastic boxes from the lands.
A study on the condition of the soil recourses and soils will be carried out on both sides of the border. Training of representatives of authorities, farmers, businesses, and civil society about environment is planned to be held, as well a joint conference on environment will be organized.
As a result of the implementation of the project, the farmers will be able to monitor their soil quality free of charge and they will receive guidance on optimal fertilization under the new European union regulations, as well as the waste management process will be improved.

Bu projenin temel amacı, doğanın korunması, sürdürülebilir kullanım ve atık yönetimi kapasitesinin yanı sıra sınır ötesi bölgenin doğal kaynaklarını iyileştirmektir. Sınır ötesi Bulgar-Türk bölgesi, yönetimi için özel çaba gerektiren belirli coğrafi, ekonomik ve çevresel özelliklere sahip, hızla gelişen bir alandır. Bu proje ile çevre ve atık yönetimi konusunda farkındalığın artırılmasına odaklanılmaktadır. Proje kapsamında hedefe ulaşmak için bir çok önemli etkinlikler uygulandı. Açılış Konferansı ve Kapanış Konferansı etkinlikleri ile projenin çarpan etkisi arttırılması hedeflendi. Haskovo ve Meriç'te çiftçilere yönelik eğitimler, bölgede faaliyet gösteren çiftçilerin bilgi ve becerilerini arttırıldı. Çevre koruma bilincini artırmak ve sürdürülebilir tarım konusunda farkındalığın arttırılması için ortak bir çevre konferansı düzenlendi. Sınır ötesi bölgede temasların genişletilmesi, ticari ve ekonomik ilişkilerde olumlu bir iklime katkıda bulunacak ve çiftçilerin potansiyelinin genişletilmesine yardımcı olacaktır.
